“
My biggest takeaway from NALEDI is seeing Trust on a bigger scale. I never understood the importance of self-trust. I am grateful to the programme for pushing me to share my story which was uncomfortable at first because it was normal to only allow people to see what I want them to see. I had to be vulnerable and that needed me to trust the circle I was in. I came out of the programme knowing who I was better and slowly letting myself relate to others better.

I am excited about how my recent coaching experiences demonstrate growth in my leadership. I have been coaching a teacher for one hour per week and have observed remarkable progress. My next goal is to coach SMT (School Management Team) members while simultaneously training them to be coaches. This will allow me to cascade coaching skills to the SMT, enabling them to support teachers more effectively. My coach is helping me to identify and eliminate my limiting behaviours while reinforcing positive behaviours.

The workshop was refreshing, continuing with my healing journey after a testing last year in the organisation. I am grateful to know that I am not alone in my challenges and that I am not an incompetent leader. That the season I went through was there to help me grow. I was challenged to think about how trust can make or destroy the working environment. Thanks for creating a platform for us to feel safe, understood
and heard.
